Emirates Cooperative Society is a leading retail organization based in Dubai. It was established on 16th November 1994, in accordance with Co-operative Society Law No.13 of the year 1976. The Cooperative Society was unified under the U.A.E. Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs Ministerial decision no. 94/535 and registered under the Department of Economic Development, Dubai.
This cooperative retail movement was launched under the guidance of the Rulers’ of Dubai, with an overwhelming support of Emirati Nationals as shareholders with an invested capital of Dhs.40 million.
The key objective of forming this cooperative society that is congruently a semi-government entity was to provide best quality and services at reasonable prices to all shareholders and non-shareholders thus strengthening the social and economic status of the Nation.
